Conventions to promote the Morocco destination in the Emirates
Signed on the sidelines of Morocco’s participation in the Arabian Travel Market
The Morocco destination strengthens its positioning on the Arab market. New partnerships were recently sealed allowing national tourism to strengthen its attractiveness and attract new emitters. The rapprochement was made with professionals of the Emirati tourism industry and this on the sidelines of Morocco’s participation this weekend in the 28th edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) whose work continues until Wednesday 19 May 2021. To this end, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), represented by its Managing Director Adel El Fakir, has entered into a partnership with Dnata Travel, the oldest United Arab Emirates travel supplier under the Emirates Group.
The commitment is to promote Moroccan destinations to the Emirati public from June until the end of the year. This merger aims to position Morocco as a completely safe destination in terms of health security. The ONMT has also joined forces with Seera Holidays, the main tour operator in the Gulf region, with a view to carrying out a multi-channel promotional campaign for the Morocco destination. This partnership also aims to permanently highlight the Kingdom on the various platforms operated by Seera over a period of 10 months, starting in June. The expected objective is to reach 14,000 confirmed customers over the said period. The third agreement was signed with Etihad Holidays, a subsidiary of the Etihad Airways Group. This partnership will have the effect of stimulating demand for the Morocco destination through offers with preferential rates thanks to vacation packages particularly to Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech and Agadir.
These partnerships are, in fact, in accordance with the provisions of the Morocco destination promotion strategy led by the ONMT in order to prepare for the resumption of tourist activity, especially since the United Arab Emirates are the l ‘one of the major source markets in the Middle East allowing their nationals to travel. “It is very important for us to guarantee an optimal visibility of Morocco among professionals and to clearly convey the message that Morocco continues to prepare to welcome its tourists in the best conditions of health security, as soon as the conditions of recovery are of return ”, underlines Adel El Fakir. Remember that this 28th edition of the Arabian Travel Market is intended to be the first major tourism fair organized face-to-face since the start of the pandemic. This event generates more than 220 billion dirhams in transactions. Morocco is represented there over an area of 220 square meters. Moroccan hotels and travel agencies are also present via an innovative “phygital” concept, combining physical presence for some and digital participation for others.
