Renovation of Agadir hotels: SDR issues an AMI to support the targeted hotels
This operation involves the granting of a financial subsidy of 30% of the total cost of the renovation of the establishment, capped at 10 million dirhams, and personalized technical support.
The Souss-Massa Tourist Development Company will implement a support system for hotels having obtained the agreement in principle for the renovation and upgrading of their establishments.
In detail, the renovation of hotels in the Agadir Souss-Massa destination is one of the main projects currently open by the SDR Souss-Massa and which has already been the subject of two calls for expression of interest (AMI) intended for owners and managers. Agadir hotel establishments wishing to benefit from the subsidy dedicated to the renovation and upgrading of their establishments. And to ensure the success of this operation, the SDR launched last week an AMI for the establishment of a support system for hoteliers in Agadir for the renovation and upgrading of the targeted hotel structures. As a reminder, this operation involves the granting of a financial subsidy of 30% of the total cost of the renovation of the establishment, capped at 10 million dirhams and personalized technical support. In other technical details, this subsidy benefits companies and natural or legal persons governed by Moroccan law presenting a renovation program for a classified tourist accommodation establishment, meeting certain conditions, namely to be in continuous or discontinuous operation. for at least 5 years.
These establishments must also present an integrated upgrading program that the company undertakes to implement within a maximum period of 3 years. These must be in a regular situation vis-à-vis the tax administration and the CNSS and not be subject to reorganization or liquidation proceedings. The renovation program consists of diversifying and thematizing the tourist offer, supporting international trends, upgrading the tourist product and improving the competitiveness of the sector. While the release of funds will be done gradually, and in four stages; a 20% share when 20% of the progress of the renovation work is achieved and 30% of the subsidy when 50% of the progress is reached. The third installment, up to 25%, will be released when the progress reaches 75% while the last installment (25%) will be granted after the completion of the project.
Note that this operation is set up within the framework of an agreement signed by the ministry, the wilaya of the Souss-Massa region, the Souss-Massa regional council, the municipality of Agadir, the Association of the hotel industry. Agadir (AIHA) and SDR Souss-Massa. It is also piloting other projects in the region to upgrade the tourism product and improve the competitiveness of the sector at the regional level, including the development of rural tourism and the creation of tourist information centers in Agadir.
